Pretty Meh

I love shokz as a brand; because I have a very specific hearing problem bone conduction is key for me to having a normal quality of life experience and I use them everyday.

I bought these hoping mic would improve how I sound while online. The quality just isn't there I sound terrible to others its the same if not worse than the standard pair of Shokz or the openfit ones I have.

At £100 quid more expensive I expected more; guess I'll just use them as standard pair and look or an alternative again.

I originally had the first generation OpenComm UC. This worked well but lacked in bass playback. the playback sound quality is much better on the OpenComm2

Shotzk good

I tried the apple AirPods and found them quite uncomfortable. I got the shotsk and found them so comfortable I forgot I was wearing them. I wasn't looking for bass or treble music integrity I just wanted clarity and that's what i got. Thank you!

not good

won't maintain a connection with an iPhone, I keep having to reconnect via restarting the bluetooth connection, even a cheap headset doesn't need to do this. As to the PC, the mic doesn't works so now have to spend another £50 in the forlorn hope that the USB dongle will make it work, if it doesn't works on a pc without it, why sell it without it, so you can collect an extrat £50 I suppose. Proceed with caution if your thinking of buying.

Great accuracy and sound

I bought these more for the microphone element than the sound, but I am very impressed with both. Having used a poly headset for many years I’m amazed by the accuracy of my dictations since switching to the shockz opencomm UC 2.

It’s a shame there isn’t the way that you could switch sides of the microphone, but I’m lucky as I prefer it on the right side anyway.

They are both designed for communication, the main difference between Opencomm UC and Opencomm2 UC is the following.

What devices will Opencomm2 UC pair with?

Via Dongle, Opencomm2 UC can pair with desk devices like PC, laptop, as long as it offers a USB-A port or USB-C port.
Via Bluetooth, Opencomm2 UC will pair with most Bluetooth devices that use Bluetooth 3.1 or higher, including phones, tablets, computers and watches. It will not pair with gaming consoles. It will not pair with some transmitters.

How do I mute/unmute the microphone？

To mute the microphone, click the mute button once during the call. You’ll hear ‘mute on’, and the the Loop110 will show solid red.
To unmute the microphone, click the mute button once during the call. You’ll hear ‘mute off’.

Can the dual noise-canceling boom microphone be removed?

The boom microphone on the Opencomm2 UC is not detachable, you are able to move the microphone so you can move it away from your mouth when you are done with your call.
Note：The microphone can only be rotated 180 degrees. During use, please operate with care.

Can individuals with hearing loss benefit from bone conduction headphones?

As the situation varies person from person, we are unable to confirm that whether our headphones will work for any particular individual. We suggest you can ask the doctor first, or there are plenty of retailers with in-store demos, we encourage you to give them a try. Kindly see the retailers here.

What is the function of Shokz connect?

Shokz Connect supports firmware upgrades, which implement the headset firmware update functions. For example, fixing software bugs, getting the latest performance updates, etc.. 1. OpenComm2 UC was tested under controlled laboratory conditions, and the comparison object is Shokz previous generation products.
2. OpenComm2 UC was tested under the normal temperature environment of standard atmospheric pressure by connecting the headset to an iPhone 12 Pro within one meter and switching the EQ to standard mode. The data was collected by playing “Trouble Is A Friend” by Lenka at a volume level of 93%.
3. OpenComm2 UC was tested under controlled laboratory conditions. This data is gathered at the Shokz laboratory and is charged by 5V voltage at 25±2 ℃.
4. OpenComm2 UC can withstand moderate sweat, rain, and dust exposure in a non-water environment. OpenComm UC was tested under controlled laboratory conditions and has a rating of IP55 under IEC standard 60529. Water-resistance is not a permanent condition and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Please do not submerge or expose the frames for an extended period to water or any drinks.
