On July 6, 2023, Shokz welcomed a new member to its headphone family - OpenFit, the first true wireless earbuds with DirectPitch™️ technology. As always, Shokz loves to invite our users to try our earbuds, so we held the First Tester campaign two weeks before the launch.
What is the First Tester Program?
First Tester Program is Shokz's free earbuds try-on program for all users. We hope that through this activity, Shokz users will learn more about Shokz OpenFit, the new product with new shape, new technology and new concept, and we also hope that users can enjoy every day with OpenFit.
Who wants to wear OpenFit？
Once launched we received a large number of applications from different industries and different age groups. During the 15 days of registration, Shokz received thousands of applications, we feel your enthusiasm!

As a runner, I generally don’t run with music due to having to run along country roads and a few close calls with “country traffic” in the past. I’ve been using the OpenFit wireless earbuds from Shokz for a few days now on my runs to try and change my mind to take my playlists with me. These are game changing as not only being comfortable and light to wear (you forget you’re wearing them even on my 2 hours + long runs!), but most importantly I can hear everything that’s going on around me thanks to the Open-Ear concept. Awesome sound quality to boot has definitely changed my mind to take my tunes with me from now on.

I feel much more safe running knowing I can hear any traffic or bikes coming up behind me. The OpenFit remained secure throughout my threshold run this morning. I was able to use it during my warm up, efforts and cool down with no issues. The behind the ear design did not interfere with my pony tail or hat and I often forgot I had them on.
I enjoyed how I was able to listen to podcasts and music whilst still being aware of conversations around me. It allowed me to feel more present in my team and contribute to any discussions more readily. No more missing out on banter with noise cancelling headphones! They’re also much more stylish than the design of OpenRun etc. I was hesitant and didn’t buy them as I didn’t want to look like a geek in the office hah.

After a short adjustment, I feel very delighted again. I didn't even notice them at all. They were very comfortable even when I was running with glasses and a cap. I have long hair, and sometimes, I had to redo my ponytail. So, I swung my hair over my head because I completely forgot I was wearing headphones. Even then, they stayed in place.
And yet, the sound is great. I don't listen to music or audiobooks at very high volumes, but even when I turn up the volume, the sound remains really good.

It takes a little time to adapt and to find the sensitive area for the different functions, such as double-tap or long press to skip forward or return to a track. When the earbuds are in place, a long press can also start playing music! This is not mentioned on the website!
The weight of the earbuds is very well balanced at 17 grams on my scale. There is no feeling of weight towards the front or back of the ears.
The weight of the case is 58 grams, really lightweight. The total weight of both is 75 grams, making them easily forgettable during transportation, whether in a bag or a jacket pocket.
