I was wearing my Shokz Aeropex during my transatlantic row crossing, Fortunately, i was able to hear the surroundings during one of my evening row shifts and I heard the breath of an approaching humpback whale! I took the opporuntity to jump in the water and swim alongside this magnificent creature before it sped on through. if i had been plugged into any other headphones i may have missed the opprtunity of a lifetime.

So in 2018 I decided that I need to change my life, I was 21st 8lb.

So I started to walk 5 km every day for a year, keeping my heart rate at around 120 bpm, after a year or so I had to start jogging , as you can imagine doing a solo walk for over a year became boring so after trying other head sets ( that just broke time and time again ) I decided to buy a set of Air Shokz and I have never looked back.

I have manage as of today get my weight down to 14st and run a number of distance races.

In one of my last races being the London marathon 2022, Shokz provided me with music and notification to help me get a PB of 3:42:17 which I am very proud of.

I discovered Shokz through a soporific office colleague, who used his headphones during his work time, allowing him to listen to music while remaining attentive to his environment, better than that, nothing in my ears!

I tested it and was immediately won over, I had to wait a little while to buy one, and when I did, I almost never left it! I even thought it was great to lend it to my son so that he could watch films on the tablet in the car without damaging his eardrums. I gave it to my grandfather who could not for medical reasons wear in-ear monitors, and he immediately asked me to order the same one for him, he enjoyed it every day this summer, he showed it to his friends, proud to say that I was the one who made him discover it as if I had invented it! And then in September of that same year 2020, he died of a stroke, in the midst of his friends, 3 days before his 75th birthday.

When we were given the stuff he had with him when it happened, he had his Shokz helmet, in his pocket, and the little note I had put in the box when I gave it to him.

I kept his helmet, which I use, and the note, and gave mine to my son.

Hello Shokz,

Our story started before, when you were still an after school student.

To tell it, you'd have to start by counting the number of hours we've spent together.

For some, the number might seem shocking, but for others not ultra enough.

It started with you Titanium. Hours and hours of riding the streets, roads, paths, fields and forests, training (mostly) and ultra (sometimes).

Music (a lot), podcasts (a lot), a few phone conversations, one of the most beautiful of which was when I learned that I was going to be a sponsor!

And then, one day you left me, one of your headphones had given too much for many years. You had to go.

Raped with an unbearable sadness and lack I could not wait more than 3 days before meeting your descendant: Aeropex with whom I was able to find our crazy relationship of yesteryear, renewed with whom we continue to wander.

The story continues without counting, and it will always be easier to live it than to tell it.

The Shokz OpenRun Pro are the saviours in my small living environment. Since we moved as a family to a livelier neighbourhood, I have been suffering from the ambient noise of the vibrant city. I had underestimated that I really have such a hard time getting used to the new place. I started to isolate myself with hearing protection or in-ear headphones and antinoise cancelling. As a result, I became more and more sensitive to street noise and communication with neighbours and family was disturbed because I always had something stuck in my ear as protection. In fact, there is a condition called misophonia - a kind of hatred and pain for certain noises.

Finally, I came across my little saviours - the bone-sound headphones from Shokz.

I put a soft noise on my headphones to take my focus away from the ambient noise. However, I always have the option of listening to a podcast or music while gardening.

The most important thing is that my ear remains free, of course, and I can perceive the wind or the chirping of the birds naturally. I also stay open for a conversation with family and neighbours.

So thank you very much for these ingenious headphones. Who knows for whom they will be an everyday helper.

“My goal is to run a marathon on Texel in March
2023, which I will succeed with hard training.”

My husband has been running marathons for KiKa (children's cancer-free foundation) for years. I have always supported him in this, especially as I have a fierce past with (childhood) cancer. My sister had leukaemia at a young age, but was cured. She is now in her 40s, but a few years back the cancer returned. In her brain this time. Again, surgery saved her life, though she had to sacrifice a lot of quality of life. I also lost my father to cancer after a long battle.

He loved our children, his grandchildren. And to top it all, close friends of ours lost their son to cancer. All in all, enough reason to dedicate ourselves as a family to KiKa. We have been doing so since 2016 and in that time my husband has already run 10 official marathons, to which we always linked actions to raise money. We did this with the whole family and leading up to and during the marathons, I supported my husband. He ran with Shokz, because then he could also hear all the (our!) encouragement while running. Since six months, I have also been running. My goal is to run a marathon on Texel in March 2023, which I will succeed with hard training. My husband is my coach, my supporter and supporter. Of course I'm going to do it for KiKa. For my father, for my sister and for all children who are sick when they should be children! I now regularly borrow my husband's shokz, but I would really love to have my own headphones!
