Hellen Obiri is widely recognized as one of the greatest female long-distance runners in history. Over the past decade, the Kenyan superstar has dominated Track & Field, Cross Country, and Road Running at the highest level, showcasing unmatched versatility and resilience.
She remains the only woman in history to have won World Championship titles in Indoor, Outdoor, and Cross Country events — a testament to her extraordinary adaptability and athletic excellence. From the roar of the stadium to the quiet grit of the trails, Hellen’s name has become synonymous with determination and greatness.
In recent years, Hellen has successfully transitioned into marathon running, proving her elite credentials yet again. She claimed back-to-back titles at the Boston Marathon in 2023 and 2024 and was crowned champion at the 2023 New York City Marathon — solidifying her status as a force to be reckoned with on the roads.
At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Hellen captured the bronze medal in the marathon, marking a milestone achievement and adding another layer of brilliance to her already illustrious career.
In 2025, she returned to the Boston Marathon with her sights set on a historic third consecutive win. Although the victory slipped away, Hellen delivered a stunning performance, finishing with a new personal best of 2:17:41, further affirming her evolution as one of the world’s top marathoners.
Hellen currently lives and trains in Boulder, Colorado, as part of the ON Athletics Club. She shares her life with her husband Tom and their daughter Tania. Supported by her family and team, Hellen continues to push boundaries — gracefully writing the next chapter in her long-distance legacy.
"Shokz is the best headphone partner for me."
I get more energy from the bass and the OpenRun Pro 2 are like my running partner.
Shokz is the best headphone partner for me because I like having my music when I’m doing my longer runs, but I also must be able to listen to my body to know the effort I’m making and Shokz allows me to do that.
