Conner Mantz was born in Utah in 1996 and was always inspired by his parents.
His dad began his journey in running when Conner was 9 years old, and he wanted to follow in his footsteps. He enjoyed running and found out he was talented. At the age of 12, he finished his first half marathon. He wanted to run a marathon, but was told to wait until after he competed in high school or college. In high school he had success in running, winning a pair of national championships. After graduating high school, he took two years off to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ghana. After returning to the US in 2017, he studied mechanical engineering at Brigham Young University. During this time, he competed on the college cross country and track teams, winning two NCAA individual championships (2020, 2021), being part of an NCAA championship team (2019), and being a ten-time All-American. After the 2021 cross country season, he elected to run professionally, winning his first road national championship two weeks after his last college competition. He always wanted to run the marathon. At the 2022 Chicago Marathon he debuted and ran 2 hours 8 minutes and 16 seconds, running the second fastest debut by an American in the marathon. Since then, he has won prestigious events, including the 2023 and 2024 Bolder Boulder 10k, the 2024 US Olympic Trials Marathon, and other road national championships. In 2024 he competed at the Paris Olympic Games, running the fastest time an American has ever run in the Olympic Marathon with a time of 2 hours 8 minutes and 12 seconds, finishing 8th place. He also competed in the 2024 New York City Marathon finishing in 6th place. In 2025 he made a leap in racing as he finished the 2025 Houston Half Marathon in an American record of 59:17, before running faster at the NYC half marathon a couple months following (59:15). At the 2025 Boston Marathon he ran the 2nd fastest time ever by an American in the marathon, finishing in fourth place with a time of 2 hours 5 minutes and 8 seconds. “While putting thousands of miles in on the roads and trails, safety is a major factor. Shokz’s open-ear design and bone conduction technology allow me to listen to music while still being able to hear what’s going on around me.”
“Shokz keeps you safe with open-ear design—hear your music and the world around you.”
Shokz keeps you safe with its signature open-ear design—letting the rhythm move you while the sounds of the world keep you grounded. Because awareness should never come at the cost of your soundtrack.
