Eilish McColgan’s athletic journey is a testament to resilience, legacy, and a relentless drive for excellence. Born in Dundee, Scotland, Eilish grew up immersed in the world of elite athletics, coached by her mother Liz McColgan—herself a world champion.
She first stepped onto the global stage at the London 2012 Olympics, setting a Scottish record in the 3000m steeplechase. After a significant injury, she shifted her focus to flat racing—a transition that showcased both her determination and versatility. Eilish went on to reach the 5,000m final in Rio 2016 and competed again in Tokyo 2020, echoing her mother’s championship moment in the same city three decades earlier.
2022 marked a career-defining year. Eilish won Commonwealth gold in the 10,000m, breaking the Games record, and set multiple national records across distances. She shattered the British 10,000m record, claimed the European best in the 10-mile, and also holds British records in the 5km and half marathon—establishing herself as one of the UK’s greatest long-distance runners.
Beyond her performances on the track, Eilish is a powerful voice in sport—advocating for mental health, body positivity, and female athlete visibility. She began working with Shokz in 2019 and recently rejoined the Shokz squad, continuing to inspire through both her performance and her principles.
