Adam Peterman has always had a love for the outdoors, and his passion for sports began in his hometown of Missoula, Montana. Born on July 15, 1995, Adam grew up surrounded by mountains and natural landscapes, which shaped his athletic journey.
During his time at the University of Colorado, he specialized in track and field, particularly excelling in the 3000-meter steeplechase event. Although he was known for his success in shorter distances, a shift in his athletic focus occurred after graduation when he returned to Missoula. After returning to his hometown, Adam started running trails just for fun. However, he quickly became hooked on the sport. The challenge of training for trail races was something he truly loved, and he soon realized that this was the direction he wanted to pursue. Transitioning from the track to trail running was a natural progression for Adam, as he found the physical and mental challenges of ultramarathons to be incredibly rewarding. In 2021, Adam ran his first ultra at the Speedgoat 50k, marking the beginning of an incredible journey. The year 2022 became the highlight of his career, as he won the prestigious Western States Endurance Run (100 Miles), claiming first place. His victory there established him as one of the top ultrarunners in the world. Adam continued to prove his skills in 2024 with a third-place finish at the UTMB® CCC (101km), and in 2025, he set a course record at the Gorge Waterfalls 100K where he took first place. Despite a setback in 2023 due to injury, Adam's resilience and determination have been unwavering. He has been slowly building back and is now ready to start the 2024 season strong, beginning with the Canyons 100k. His journey of perseverance, dedication, and passion for the sport continues to inspire many. Adam’s perseverance and unwavering spirit have been key drivers behind his success. His ability to overcome obstacles and stay focused on his goals—whether on the racecourse or in life—serves as an inspiration to all those who love a good challenge and are willing to work tirelessly to achieve their dreams.
"They are easy to connect to your phone, change volume, and pause, and they stay attached well to your head, even while running."
"I like using the SHOKZ OpenRun Pro 2 because I can listen to music or a podcast while still hearing what's around me. It's important - especially on the trail - to hear other trail users in case you need to move over and let someone pass. The same goes for when I'm using them at the gym.I can have my headphones in, but if I need to ask someone a question, I can still hear them. They are easy to connect to your phone, change volume, and pause, and they stay attached well to your head, even while running."
